Shri Guru Ramdas Ji was the fourth guru of the Sikh faith, succeeding the third guru, Shri Guru Amardas Ji. He is recognized as the founder of Amritsar, a city that was originally called Ramdaspur. Guru Ramdas Ji also constructed several sacred ponds, including the renowned Amritsar sarovar at Shri Harmandir Sahib. The name Amritsar translates to “Pond of Nectar,” reflecting the significance of this water body.
